Thank You For Chasing Greatness

Thank you for continuously expressing your appreciation for the Teacher Appreciation Week meals, treats, and gifts. It was truly our pleasure to celebrate each of you.

We sincerely appreciate all of our staff members for making this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week such a success. You all deserve everything you received and so much more. Your hard work, dedication, and love for our students do not go unnoticed.

A very special shout out goes to Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Edwards for the extra work they put in to bring our ideas to life. Your creativity, time, and commitment helped make the week extra special.

We are a team, and each of us plays a different role. I truly appreciate those who shine as superstars in the role they serve every single day.

I love you, Lions, and I truly hope you enjoyed your week. Thank you for everything you do for our students, families, and school community!

E.O.Y. Staff Checklist

Please take the time to observe and print out your Pirrung End Of Year Checklist (link below). We are asking that all items on the checklist be completed by May 29th.

Please be sure to read the details below the checklist for further clarification. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the individual responsible for checking off the line item that you have a question about.

Class List Sorting

This week, we will begin finalizing class lists for the upcoming school year. Last week, Mrs. Heidenreich placed student cards in your boxes to help with the class placement process. Please make sure all cards are fully completed and bring them with you to your scheduled class list meeting this week.

During your PE special time, we will work together to sort current students into classes for next year. Our SPED department has already placed certain students based on their service schedules for the upcoming school year, and you will have an opportunity to review those placements during your meeting.

As you work through student placements, please thoughtfully consider factors such as student behavior, peer relationships, and which students work well together academically and socially.

Your insight and collaboration are greatly appreciated as we create balanced and supportive classroom communities for next year.
Below, you will find the schedule for your class list meetings.

Tuesday May 12th:
  • 3rd Grade: 8:25-9:15
  • 4th Grade: 10:15-11:05

Wednesday May 13th:
  • Pre-K: 11:45-12:35
  • Kindergarten: 12:35-1:25
  • 1st Grade: 2:20-3:10
  • 2nd Grade: 1:30-2:20

Colorful school supplies including pencils, notebooks, scissors, and a stapler are arranged on a white surface.

Supply Lists

Please take time to meet with your grade level to finalize your grade level supply list. We would like to have those finalized and sent to Mrs. Henderson by May 22nd.

As a reference I have linked the supply list from last school year. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Mrs. Henderson or myself.

Dress Code

Over the course of this school year, I have not addressed our campus dress code expectations. While that does not mean dress code is unimportant, I recognize that I have not emphasized it enough, and it has recently become a topic of concern. It has been discussed among staff members and has also been brought to my attention by a parent.

As we move through the final weeks of the school year, I want to kindly remind everyone of the importance of dressing professionally and in accordance with our district dress code guidelines (linked below). Maintaining a professional appearance helps reflect the positive and respectful environment we strive to create for our students, families, and one another.

I also want to specifically address attire for Play Day on May 22nd. Since we will be outside for much of the day, participating in activities, and likely getting wet in the heat, please plan to wear appropriate athletic attire. Shorts should be an appropriate length and not overly tight or revealing, and shirts should be loose-fitting and school appropriate as well.

I sincerely apologize if my lack of communication regarding dress code this year gave the impression that it was not important. Moving forward, I appreciate everyone’s support in helping maintain a professional standard and modeling appropriate professionalism within our building.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued dedication to our students and school community.

Taking Attendance

Teachers, we have recently run into an issue where students who are present in school, are being marked absent. Teachers please remember that attendance should be taken promptly at 9:30.

Please do not mark students absent if they are present in class at that time. Only mark students absent if they have not arrived by 9:30. If a situation arises and you have mistakenly marked a student absent, please call the front office and notify Ms. Edwards. She will update and recode student attendance as needed.

Thank you for assisting us in ensuring that we have correct attendance records for our students.

REMINDER: GRADES DUE: 5/20/26

All grades must be completed by May 20th. We need all grades turned in so we can print the students last report card and place them in their cum folders. As a reminder, please be sure to have 10 grades for every content area.

Pirrung House and Student/Parent Engagement Committee Sign-Up

Thank you again for your time during last week’s staff meeting. I wanted to follow up with a bit more detail regarding two important initiatives: our House Committee and our Student and Parent Engagement Committee.

The House Committee will support the rollout of our refreshed House System. This team will design the process for assigning students and staff into four houses, as well as plan key elements such as House Meetings, House Parties, and the system for awarding House Points.

The Student and Parent Engagement Committee will focus on strengthening connections within our school community. This includes enhancing existing events like Trunk-or-Treat and Winter Wonderland, as well as creating new opportunities to celebrate and recognize student achievements throughout the year.

Both committees will need to meet before the end of the school year to begin planning dates and Fall activities. Our goal is to have these plans in place so staff can start the new school year with clarity and excitement.

I appreciate your willingness to support these efforts and help create meaningful experiences for our students and families. If you are interested, please use the link below to sign up:

REPOST: Award Ceremony Links

As shared during last week’s staff meeting, end-of-year (EOY) class awards ceremony templates have been created for your use. An awards tracker has also been provided to help you monitor which students have received awards.

Please ensure that every student receives at least one award. We encourage you to collaborate with your grade-level team to maintain consistency and alignment across all classes during your awards ceremonies.

Departmentalized and specials teachers should provide their academic awards to homeroom teachers for announcement during the ceremony.

Principal’s Award:
Each class/grade level will recognize students who exemplify our R.O.A.R. values (Relationships, Opportunity, Achievement, Responsibility).

  • Grades K–2: Select 1 boy and 1 girl per class.
  • Grades 3–5: Select 1 boy and 1 girl per grade level.

Award Ceremony Links (Make digital copies before editing):

Thank you for your attention to these details as we prepare to celebrate our students’ accomplishments.

REPOST: E.O.Y. Award Ceremonies 5/26 & 5/27

As we begin planning for the end of the year, we’re excited to share that this year’s E.O.Y. award ceremonies will be held by grade level in the cafeteria. Each teacher will have up to 15 minutes to recognize and celebrate their students, and we will be inviting parents to join us for these special moments. Our goal is for every student to be recognized with an award.

All ceremonies will take place in the cafeteria, where you’ll have access to the podium and screen if your grade level would like to include a slideshow in your presentation.

To help ensure everything runs smoothly during these two days (May 26 & May 27), a few schedule adjustments will be in place:
  • Pre-K, Life Skills, and ECSE students will eat breakfast in their classrooms.
  • 4th and 5th grade students will eat lunch in their classrooms, and coverage will be provided for those teachers during that time.

Specials teachers:
Please provide an exemplary award for one male and one female student in each class. You do not need to be present at the ceremony, but we ask that you give your awards to the grade level teachers ahead of time so they can present them.

Below is the schedule for each grade level’s ceremony. We understand that some times may overlap slightly with specials, so we appreciate your flexibility and support.

Tuesday, May 26:
  • 9:00–9:45 – Pre-K/ECSE
  • 1:00–1:45 – 1st Grade
  • 2:10–2:55 – 3rd Grade
Wednesday, May 27:
  • 9:00–9:45 – Kindergarten
  • 1:00–1:45 – 4th Grade
  • 2:10–2:55 – 2nd Grade
Thursday, May 28:
  • 9:00-9:45 - 5th Grade
Life Skills students will participate with their grade level peers.

We will be encouraging students to dress up for their ceremonies, and we kindly ask that you do the same. Thank you for helping make these final days of the school year meaningful and memorable for our students. We truly appreciate all that you do!

REPOST: E.O.Y. Class Parties 5/28
